Pay package for Evans Bank CEO falls in 2016

The compensation package for the top executive at Evans Bancorp Inc. fell more than 26 percent in 2016, despite an increase in salary and bonus payments. A new regulatory filing shows that David Nasca, president and CEO, received total compensation of $722,800 last year. That’s down from $978,459 in 2015. BNMC Inc. gets $950K to study a microgrid

Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus Inc. wants to develop ways to generate electricity and then distribute it to facilities within the campus footprint. February’s private-sector job count up 1.4% in Buffalo

The health care, business services, leisure and hospitality sectors along with remedial services led the charge in the latest employment report for the Buffalo-Niagara Falls market. The February numbers show a gain of 5,400 jobs in private industry in the past year, up 1.2 percent. Increases in those industries helped overcome declines in construction, trade, and scientific and technical jobs, according to the state Department of Labor. Hornblower, Maid of Mist to begin ’17 season on April 1

The operators of separate tour boats that take passengers to the base of Niagara Falls each say they will start their 2017 season on April 1. Starting next Saturday the Maid of the Mist will launch its tour boats from the American side of Niagara Falls while Hornblower Niagara Cruises will do the same from the Canadian shoreline.
